Community Workshops

The Journey to Well-being Shouldn't Have Walls

That’s why we actively step into the community, partnering with remarkable schools and non-profits across Mississauga, Peel Region, and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Our mission is to ensure that essential support and healing are accessible to everyone, right where they live and work.

Our experienced therapists are honoured to deliver free, evidence-based workshops on topics that matter most. We are driven by a simple mission: to share practical, compassionate strategies that help people feel more confident, connected, and resilient in their daily lives.

Celebrating Our Community Partners

We’re grateful to work alongside organizations making a real difference in our community.

Philopateer Christian College (PCC)

PCC serves students in Mississauga with a commitment to academic excellence and character development. We’ve been honoured to support their staff in building stronger, more connected teams.

My Women Support (MWS)

MWS provides vital services to women and families in Peel Region, including settlement support, skills training, and mental health resources. Their dedication to empowering newcomers and vulnerable populations inspires us.

What Our Partners Say

“The workshop from Cornerstone helped our staff feel more connected and supported. Evelyn created a space where people could be honest about their challenges and learn practical ways to support each other.”

Phoebe Wasfy

Principal, Philopateer Christian College

Cornerstone’s workshops have been invaluable to the women we serve. Their therapists created safe, welcoming spaces where our participants could explore challenging topics like trauma, stress, and self-worth. What stood out most was how they made complex mental health concepts accessible and practical. The women left each session with real tools they could use immediately. We’re grateful for Cornerstone’s commitment to making quality mental health support available to our community.

Workshops We've Delivered: Stories of Growth and Connection

Better Together: Cultivating a Cohesive Team of Belonging

Developed and delivered by: Evelyn de Mos, RP

This workshop helps teams move from working alongside each other to truly working together. Staff explored what belonging feels like, identified barriers to connection, and learned practical strategies to strengthen relationships. When people feel valued and understood at work, everyone benefits.

Coping Skills for Everyday Life

Developed and delivered by: Nesrine Riskalla, RP

When life feels overwhelming, having the right tools makes all the difference. This workshop gave participants simple, effective tools to manage difficult emotions and navigate daily stressors. From grounding techniques to healthy boundary-setting, attendees left with strategies they could use right away.

Building Confidence and Self-Worth

Developed and delivered by: Nesrine Riskalla, RP
and Nada Ragheb, RP

This workshop was a safe space to explore and recognize personal strengths, challenge negative self-talk, and begin to develop a healthier, kinder relationship with oneself. We helped participants understand that while confidence is often external (what we do), self-esteem is internal (how we value ourselves). Building a strong foundation of internal worth is something you achieve, one intentional step at a time.

Managing Stress: Practical Strategies That Work

Developed and delivered by: Marian Shinuda, RP

Stress is part of life, but it doesn’t have to control your life. Participants learned how stress affects the body and mind, and discovered evidence-based techniques to reduce it. This wasn’t about eliminating stress entirely. It was about managing it better.

Understanding Trauma and Resilience

Developed and delivered by: Evelyn de Mos, RP

Trauma impacts people in complex ways, but healing is possible. This workshop explored how trauma affects the brain and body, and introduced participants to the concept of resilience. Attendees gained a deeper, more compassionate understanding of their own experiences and learned that recovery isn’t about bouncing back. It’s about moving forward
