Trauma can change how you see yourself, other people, and the world. At Cornerstone, we help people in Mississauga and Peel Region process what happened and begin to feel safer and more in control again.
You might replay what happened over and over. Certain sounds, smells, or situations trigger intense reactions. You feel on edge, always watching for danger. Sleep is hard. You avoid places or people that remind you of what you went through.
You may feel disconnected from yourself and others. You blame yourself for things that were never your fault.
What happened to you matters, and healing is possible.

Trauma is your mind and body’s response to something overwhelming or deeply distressing. PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop when trauma symptoms stay intense and begin to interfere with daily life. It is not a personal failure — it is an understandable response to what you have been through.
