If you have moved to Canada and are managing the stress of settlement, the loss of community, the tension of living between cultures, or the longer-term impact of migration on identity and family, counselling can help.
We offer therapy in English, French, and Arabic. We have particular experience with the pressures facing newcomer families and multicultural communities in Peel Region.
Migration is one of the most significant life events a person can go through. Its impact on mental health is real and well-documented — but it often goes unaddressed because people feel they should be grateful, or because therapy feels like a Western concept that does not fit their experience.
At Cornerstone, we understand that background. Our team includes therapists who have navigated their own migration experience, and our approach is built around cultural context, not despite it.

We work with newcomer individuals, couples, and families. Sessions are available in English, French, and Arabic — which matters when you want to express yourself in the language you actually think in.
We draw on narrative therapy to help you make sense of your story across cultures, attachment-based approaches for family and relationship strain, and trauma-informed care for those who carry difficult experiences from before or during their journey here.
Every therapist at Cornerstone holds a master’s degree and is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Our Clinical Director holds a PhD and a Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy and supervises all clinical work.
In person in Mississauga and online across Ontario.
We offer sliding scale fees, $50 supervised sessions, and free therapy for qualifying Peel Region residents receiving Ontario Works (OW) or ODSP through the CARE grant.
Cost should not be a barrier — talk to us.
