People come to Cornerstone for many reasons. The most common are anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, stress and burnout, anger, major life changes, and parenting challenges. Many people are dealing with more than one of these at the same time, and that is completely normal.
Every therapist at Cornerstone holds a master’s degree and is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Our Clinical Director holds a PhD and a Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy and supervises all clinical work. We offer therapy in English, French, and Arabic, in person in Mississauga and online across Ontario.
Constant worry, racing thoughts, and avoiding situations that used to feel manageable can all be signs of anxiety. When anxiety starts shaping your choices or interfering with sleep, work, or relationships, therapy can help you slow the cycle and build steadier ways to respond.
Depression is more than sadness. It can affect energy, motivation, sleep, appetite, concentration, and the way you see yourself. If you have been feeling this way for more than a couple of weeks, support is available, and treatment can help.
Trauma can stay active in the nervous system long after an event has passed. If memories, reactions, sleep, or relationships are still being affected, we can help you process those experiences in a way that feels safe and paced.
Recurring conflict, emotional distance, communication that has broken down. Whether it is a partnership, a family, or another relationship, we work with all of it.
Grief does not follow a timeline. If loss is affecting your daily life and the usual support is not enough, a therapist can help you learn to carry it. [Learn more →] links to
Stress and burnout are not the same, but both can leave you feeling stretched beyond your limits. If you are no longer bouncing back the way you used to, therapy can help you make sense of what you are carrying and what needs to change.
Even positive changes can be disorienting. Career shifts, retirement, immigration, parenthood, loss of a role you built your identity around — transitions shake up who we are. Therapy helps you find your footing.
