
SFBT is a goal-oriented approach that focuses on what you want and what is already working in your life, rather than analysing problems and their causes. At Cornerstone, we use SFBT with people in Mississauga and Peel Region who want practical, targeted support.
You do not need to fully understand a problem in order to solve it. Instead of spending months analysing what is wrong and why, SFBT directs attention toward what you want instead, toward the times when the problem is smaller or absent, and toward the strengths you already have.
SFBT is typically shorter than other approaches — five to ten sessions for many people.
