If you are an older adult in Peel Region dealing with grief, loneliness, health changes, loss of independence, or the weight of this stage of life, we are here for you. We also support adult children caring for an aging parent.
Many older adults were raised in a time when you dealt with hard things privately. Seeking support was seen as weakness. That thinking has changed — and for good reason.
Therapy is not about being unable to cope. It is about having a dedicated space to process what you are carrying, with someone who listens without an agenda.
You do not need a diagnosis. You do not need to be in crisis. You just need to want to talk.

Your therapist will work at a pace that suits you. Sessions are conversational — there is no pressure to perform or produce.
We draw on approaches that work well for older adults including narrative therapy, grief-focused work, and attachment-based approaches that help with relationship and family dynamics.
Every therapist at Cornerstone holds a master’s degree and is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Our Clinical Director holds a PhD and a Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy and supervises all clinical work.
We offer therapy in English, French, and Arabic, in person in Mississauga and online across Ontario.
If you are supporting an aging parent and finding it harder than you expected — the grief of watching someone change, the exhaustion of caregiving, the complicated feelings that come up — therapy can help you carry that too.
