Faith-Integrated Counselling in Mississauga

Faith-integrated counselling brings evidence-based therapy together with Christian faith in a way that honours both. At Cornerstone, this is always optional, always led by therapists who have genuine expertise in both domains.
What Is Faith-Integrated Counselling?
It is professional, evidence-based psychotherapy that makes room for the whole of who you are — including your faith. It is not therapy replaced by Bible study, nor spirituality used as a substitute for clinical care.
Your therapist uses the same evidence-based approaches — CBT, EFT, trauma-informed therapy — that all our therapists use. What changes is that they understand how your Christian beliefs shape your experience: how you understand suffering, forgiveness, identity, and purpose.
How Faith and Therapy Work Together
- Providing hope and meaning during periods of suffering
- Using prayer or scripture as coping tools when you find them helpful
- Exploring identity and purpose through a spiritual lens
- Processing spiritual doubt or struggle with God as part of your mental health journey
- Connecting mental health work to your faith community
Is This Right for You?
It tends to be a good fit if:
- Your Christian faith is important to you and you want it acknowledged in therapy
- You have felt dismissed by therapists who did not take your faith seriously
- You are navigating spiritual questions or doubts alongside mental health challenges
- You want evidence-based therapy that also honours your identity as a person of faith
If you practise a different faith tradition, you are very welcome at Cornerstone. Christian faith integration is offered because of our team's background — our standard counselling is available to everyone regardless of belief.
